Bio
Asela Lee Kemper is a writer, poet, and lyricist. She graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and a minor in Emerging Media & Digital Arts (EMDA). Her work has appeared in publications including Silk Club: QUIET Vol. 2 & 4, Flawless Mag: Borders Issue, Reclamation Magazine, No Tender Fences (an anthology), and SOU Student Press Vol. 1: Main Squeeze and Vol 2: Essential Oil. She has written as contributor World Of Dance, The Odyssey, and Royal Rose Magazine.
Asela has also dabbled in film. She worked with Southern Oregon's Cafe-Girl Productions of Doctor Who fan-made web series, Homesick as Assistant Director. She then collaborated with Cafe-Girl as a writer for the webseries, Explore With Ashley Leigh. Aside from her projects, she has contributed in SOU and Ashland community including 2016 SOU Social Justice Conference. Asela now holds many positions including a poetry reader for Marías at Sampaguitas and Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, copyeditor at Timberline Review, and co-editor at Chopsticks Alley Pinoy. She currently resides in Southern Oregon.
